Last week, I asked my American Public University System (APUS) students to comment on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) report on the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program, and I greatly appreciated the thoughtful responses I received. Whether they agreed with the SSCI report or not, the content gave all of us some pause, and sparked the desire to reflect on this issue.

France is calling for freedom and unity across the country after a brutal massacre of 12 people and a massive manhunt that saw two suspects killed in a hostage situation. After the vigils for the Charlie Hedbo victims, came the peace marches by hundreds of thousands, including world leaders.
One of the most important technological advancements to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement is the use of crime mapping software, which allows agencies to track crimes occurring in a jurisdiction. By plotting what, when, and where crimes are occurring, law enforcement executives can use the resulting visual data to identify crime hotspots and use this information to allocate resources to areas of repeated criminal activity.
